Camping Trip

My Dad and Step mom came down weekend before last and spent some time with us.
We decided to go camping up Spanish Fork Canyon and found a really great spot right next to the river. My brother, Paul brought his two kids and they were seriously a riot to have there! They loved playing in the water and got dirty and we all had a blast!

We brought our pup, Mac, along for the adventure. He's never been in water before (other than his occasional baths) so we thought it would be fun to see if we could teach him how to swim. The water was very cold and I think the current kind of freaked him out but he was swimming like an expert before too long! That was probably one of my favorite parts was watching him try and figure out how he could avoid the water and still get the stick he was trying to fetch. It was pretty hilarious!

One night we stayed up pretty late trying to see some constellations and some stars that are outside our galaxy. I got impatient and went to bed... It was cold! But Chad and Amy stayed up with my dad to see them. It's amazing how many stars there really are!

Chad's dad let us borrow his four wheelers (thanks again!) and that was fun. I took Mac for a good run while we were there. He's never ran beside a four wheeler before and didn't quite get the idea of running along the side and instead ran right in front of me. I thought he might be toast a couple of times. The morning we left we went for a longer ride up to see the reservoir that's up there. There is also a drop off that you can hike down to that is pretty scary.

I was glad we got to spend such a great time with my dad while he was here. Everyone seemed to have a lot of fun!

Go Bees!

Saturday, July 5 all our friends went to the Bees game. We all got seats next to each other and the popcorn was great!

The family in front of us had a few small children and the mother thought it would be a great idea to give each child a whistle. Oh, yeah! So the entire time I was trying not to confiscate the whistles/kill the little children ;) There were two girls behind me that kept hitting my head with those long noise makers as well. That was fun!

At the end of the game (the Bees got killed) they lit off fireworks. They were really fun to watch, especially the spot where they were lighting the fireworks from. I was sure they were going to start a fire. They had a few fireworks that went crazy and landed in the bushes and trees and there was a ton of smoke!

So needless to say, Chad and I concluded that the next time there is a Bees game, or rodeo, or any social event, it is in everyone's best interest if I am heavily sedated first! Yeehaw!
